Subject: Civil war records of Lawson S. Kilborn

In the Federal records you may or may not find his enlistment paper which
gives name, age, occupation and physical description. Essentially, the records
of someone who lived through the war consist of copies of the muster roll,
which said he was present between certain dates in a given unit at a specific
grade - all so he could be paid. If he applied for a pension, you get
information regarding his wife and children, not his parents. Try on line for
state information regarding the 72nd. I would expect there to be a fair amount.
