Subject: [ROOTS-L] DISOWNING/NOT ACKNOWLEDGING

HI, Rooters! Both 'disowning' and 'not acknowledging' -
'non-acknowledgement' of another human being is a personal choice.

'Disinherited ', I believe, is a legal discriptive term when it comes
to heirs, estates, etc. - disowning can be confused with disinherited,
but it doesn't mean exactly the same as the legal term, due to the
estate, property, etc. Sometimes, a living parent will tell a child
they 'disown' him/her when they have reached the last straw with that
 child... for whatever reason.

If I am incorrect on this, I'm sure someone will correct the error.

In the msg. in the last List, at least the person told some of the
family, even if it was just a postcard, that 'he wanted nothing to do
with any of them anymore' - after he disappeared.

Families, like life, can be very strange at times.
