Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: Arthur Barrett

I'm assuming you're referring to Arthur Barrett, who married Lydia Chambers
in Chester Co., PA. They later moved to Frederick Co., VA. I descend from
this family, but my Barrett was the great-granddaughter of the original
Arthur. She married Thomas Barnett and I descend through that line. I
corresponded for a number of years with Dr. Frederick Barrett Emery of
Concordia, KS, but he died about 30 years ago. He descended from a group of
David Barrett's family (David was a brother of my Sarah Barrett), who moved
to the Lebanon, Kansas, area in the 1800s. Have you tried for a "Barrett"
last name in that area of Kansas. I don't know if there are any left there
or not, but there is an Arthur Barrett Chapter, Daughters of the American
Revolution still in that area and there are several members there, who
descend from Arthur and Lydia (Chambers) Barrett. Jennie (Barnett) Vertrees
> Looking for anyone with Arthur Barrett's line (Maryland, Pennsylvania,
Virginia ca 1600) in their line. Do you know of a male Barrett whose
paternal line includes this Arthur?<
