Subject: [ROOTS-L] Caldwell

I have an immovable brick wall: looking for parents of David Caldwell, born 
in Delaware on 22 Sept 1803, married in First Presbyterian Church in  
Southwark, Philadelphia PA on 3 Dec 1828 to Julia Woolson ( have certificate ), have 
him in Del Census for years 1830, 1840 and 1850:: in Indiana Census for years 
1860, 1870, He died 8 Sept 1879 in  Whitley County Indiana, buried in Larwill. A 
son's census record in 1880 had his father born in Ireland, but all other 
records has him born in New Castle County Delaware.I am hoping the son meant his 
grandfather was born in Ireland, but that is a very slim lead. 

Oh, friends, any help anyone might have or even just advice on where to go 
next would be so appreciated. I am still getting my feet wet in this passion for 
genealogy. How many times have we visited  the resting place of a loved one 
and whispered  to their stone 'talk to me' ?
