Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: ROOTS-L Truth or Tall Tales

Ok...I just can't help myself on this one.....If my grandmother had told the truth, my mother might have known that her "1/2" brother was really her full brother....(that's a guess on my part, but it looks that way from the evidence). My mother would also have had to deal with her mother not being married to her father, but my mother might have been less judgmental and definitely less uptight! If my mother and grandmother had shared the truth....I'd be a lot further down the road on my genealogical research....and I would have had lots to talk to my mother about. What lesson does it teach your children, if you can't tell the truth in your own family?
I go with the truth.....even if it hurts!!!
