Subject: [ROOTS-L] ReCOMMON LAW

I followed the answers to this pretty close. I have one that I do not know
how to handle.
What if the parent is married to one person and has another's child. The
Birth certificate reads the Husbands name, but if you follow that line then you
loose the true lines of the child. Example: John Doe and Mary Doe are the
married couple. Mary has an affair resulting in the illegitimate child. Name on
birth certificate is Doe. In later years both the mother and Birth father tell
the child the truth but never alter the birth certificate. So do you note on
the child who the legal father is and do the search on the birth fathers
line. Boy what a can of worms this has presented.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Margie
