Subject: [ROOTS-L] BABCOCK, KNAPP

A friend of mine has asked my help. She is trying to obtain "Pioneer"
automobile tags for her mother who lives in Colorado. To do so, she has to
show that one of her direct ancestors lived in Colorado 100 years ago. Her
mother does not remember anything about her family except her parents' names.

We have located the following:
* Her grandfather, William M. Babcock, was a lodger living at 213 Milla---t
B---t in Colorado Springs City, El Paso County, Colorado, in the household
of Roger P. Van Hook. He was unmarried and worked as a salesman of auto
supplies.
* Her grandfather, William M. Babcock, and his family (wife Virginia, son
John H., and daughter Dorothy) lived at 1118 Fifth Avenue in Longmont City,
Boulder County, Colorado, for the 1930 census. He was working as a manager
at Western Auto Supply.
* William M. Babcock was born in Missouri in 1892/3. His father was born
in New York. He reports his mother being born in Missouri on the 1920
census and in Illinois on the 1930 census.
* William's daughter, Dorothy, was born 27 January 1929 in Boulder, Boulder
County, Colorado.
* William M. Babcock married Virginia Neeley Knapp.

 From family tradition:
* William M. Babcock's father, given name unknown, built a house on E.
Wilamette in Colorado Springs. William inherited this house.

Can anyone help????
