Subject: [ROOTS-L] obituary findings

It is not always the easiest thing to find obituary listings prior to 1930's, and many times prior to 1900. I have written directly to funeral homes, cemeteries, newspaper home delivery offices, and public libraries, but many times get not reply. Do any of you have a trick up your sleeve in acquiring written notices on your family descendants in your finding records? I am still hoping to acquire names of relatives born in Europe, with specific city/town locations. I understand that once you get this kind of " find", it is a piece of cake in getting records of your kin in that country. Look forward to some specific assistance.
