FTM has a cd that costs perhaps $29 (cd #220) when I purchased it that
has the births and deaths from the MA Vital Records series of books to 1850.
This information is also on Ancestry. I am still waiting for another cd to
come out with the marriages, but I have not heard of one being released.
Obviously not everyone born, died or married in the towns covered made it
into the books. These are secondary sources in that the material came most
likely from town land records and other town record books.

Libraries with genealogy collections tend to have copies of the FTM cds
and cds from other sources with early vital records of some New England
towns for their patrons to use. It never hurts to give your nearest
genealogy library a call and see what they offer.

Buying genealogy resources when one begins this hobby is sort of like
buying tools when learning to work on one's home. I have never bought a
tool that was not used for another project down the road. Anyone serious
about genealogy might want to think about acquiring some of their own
resources, though obviously most of us cannot buy all the books and
resources we might like to own

It does not hurt to ask for lookups and sometimes one is successful on
some of their requests. But even with an answer from a lookup, one really
should to get back to the original town records to check for one's self.

I did not find anything on the MA cd for Mary Kendall Stone or Sarah
Jane Moffitt. There were too many Mary Stone's to check for the ones without
a middle initial. I did find a Samuel READ born 27 Aug 1807 in Oxford,
Worcester Co., MA, son of William and Lucinda READ.
