I don't usually post, but I have just started something that may be helpful
to others who are not computer savy. I wanted a way to record an oral
history from my father, who is now 90 years old. I found a very easy and
inexspensive program for $24.95 that allowed me to record in wav. or MP3 files. I set
up my laptop with a microphone and started looking at old pictures of the
family. It was wonderful to capture not only the stories about my father's
life, but to hear it in his words.

Hi Pam, please explain to the group what kind of program you used to help
you to make an oral story about your father's life. What was the name of the
program and where did you buy it?
Was it local or did you have to order it?

I too know very little about computers but I would love to record some
conversations with my older family members.
Joyce.
