Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: Bohemia

Hello listers,
I have a section on my webpage that deals with Moravia and Bohemia-- what is
now the Czech Republic. You can search the Bohemia message board for your
surname, or post a query. If you are lucky and have a placename (a town) I
have discovered http://www.expedia.com Click "Maps" and "Get Driving
Directions."

I have an ancestor born about 1717 in "Lower Silesia," which turned out to
be Prussia, now Poland. But parts of Lower Silesia are now in the German
state of Saxony, and right next door to Bohemia and Moravia. The people and
place names of this entire region can be found both in the German and Polish
/ Czech language. Schlesien = Silesia, and Preussen = Prusssia, and so on...
