In 1850, he is in Town of Orleans, an adjacent township. In 1880 he is in Michigan. Have online access to "Elder John Crandall and descendants of Rhode Island" by John Constance Crandall. The index is very difficult to use. I looked for a Joseph with one of two sons: Milton or Cory. The book lists the father and child's name in (...) after his name. No listing for this Joseph with a child. That doesn't mean he is not in the book. Elder John came from Monmouthshire, England to the U.S. abt. 1634, settling first in MA and later in RI. Probably most Crandalls in the earlier years descend from him via his 10 children. Does anyone have this Joseph in your files ? Florence
