Frontier Religion and its Genealogical Effects Workshop

An in-costume presentation of the 1800-40 religious revival on the
American frontier and its impact on genealogical research will be
explained in considerable detail. The outline for the "Frontier
Religion and Its Genealogical Effects" workshop includes the following
six areas:

"Tracing Ancestors Back Across The Atlantic"

An in-costume presentation, Dr. Schweitzer will be describing
techniques for tracing ancestors back across the Atlantic Ocean,
recognizing that in most cases the first step is to be done with
records in U.S. The workshop will focus on the countries where the
largest group of ancestors came from: England, Scotland, Ireland,
Northern Ireland, and Germany.

LLCGS's 30th Anniversary Celebration Family History Workshop on
October 14th will be presented by a nationally recognized expert, Dr.
George K. Schweitzer, Ph.D., Sc.D. One of the three genealogical
workshops by Dr. Schweitzer is titled: "Finding Your Ancestors'
Parents."

An in-costume presentation by Dr. Schweitzer will address the most
important question in all genealogy: "Who are the Parents?"

This basic question sets the framework for all other research. It
provides the essential information for connecting the generations. It
allows the family line to be pushed back for each grandparent line.

The four major areas in the presentation are as follows:

1.	Record types
2.	Record Sources
3.	Research Procedure
4.	Notes on Major Record Categories

Pre registration cost is $10 for LLCGS members and $15 per person for
non members. The luncheon cost is $9.75 and should be reserved at the
time of registration. The event registrar is Cynthia Monroe and the
contact person for more details is Bob FitzSimmons. E mail:
fitzfp@aol.com or call 402-465-5678.
