Subject: [ROOTS-L] Ancestry.com Question

ANSWER TO BELOW:

Dee,
While they have changed it you can still save the image.

When you get the image on the screen click on Save at the top right hand
side.

A box will come up and give you 3 options. Start a member tree, save to
Shoebox (whatever that is - grin) and the last one is Save to my computer hard
drive. Simply click on the last one and you will have no problem.

Personally I don't much care for it either. Plus I'm not sure I like the new
home page which no longer has the second request page with the state and
country maps.......oh well....guess I'll figure out how to get around that
problem sooner or later!
Hope this helps, Gretchen

ORIGINAL QUESTION:

From: huggins huggins <huggins_huggins@yahoo.com>
Subject: Ancestry.com Question

I can no longer save census records to "My Ancestry".
There are 2 choices - save to "Shoebox" or "Start a
New Tree With This Name" (or wording similar).

The actual census page can be saved to "Shoebox",
"Start a New Tree" or "My Computer". No "My
Ancestry".

I loved the "My Ancestry" layout and am not sure why
it was deleted as a choice.

I clicked on "Contact Us" at Ancestry.com and wrote up
the question. When I hit the "Submit" key, it opened
to a page that said, "The page cannot be displayed -
HTTP Error 405". (Figures!)

Then I went to the message boards to post the question
but couldn't find a link to post a new message.
Instead, there's an error that states, "You are not an
administrator". I made sure I was logged in but still
had the same problem.

Is anyone else facing the same issues???

Thanks,
dee
