I do know he owed back taxes in 1865 (ten years after her arrived). Wouldn't he have to register his land even if he lived in the territory. This just doesn't make sense. The back taxes were in his name, but later on 1867-his wife sold land to his brother. He outlived his wife by several years? Carol
