Joe, you were very lucky. Alabama will not release them to anyone other 
than an immediate family member or a legal representative for 125 years 
after the birth of the deceased. The same is true for the death 
certificate that may be less accurate than a birth certificate. What is 
on a death certificate depends upon the knowledge of the person giving 
the information which may or may not be correct.
