Subject: [ROOTS-L] WEISENSALE, MARCH, LOHR, LEHR and BAER, BAEHR,BEAR,BARE of York Co. Pennsylvania, USA 1818

To Bruce Hargest whose email no longer works:
Dear Bruce,
Thank you for the information on the BAIR
family that you emailed me 2 years ago. I found a
register of death record at the Adams Co. Courthouse
for Susana BAER/BEAR WEISENSALE (1818--1897). It
stated that she was born in York Co. The more I look
into this--I think that her father Georg BAER and
mother
Catharina LOHR (orig. LEHR) may have lived in N.
Codorus Twp.
or Codorus Twp. in York Co. One of Susana's
children—Louisa--
married Daniel S. MARCH from N. Codorus Twp. in York
Co.

Do you have the history of these BAER's? Two
trees on Rootsweb.com WorldConnect have George BEAR
married to Catharine Lohr. The ancestor for George
appears to be Henry Y. BEAR.

You can view them by putting "Henry Y. Bear" as
the key name to search. Kent Salomon posted a file
under SALOMON on 26 Aug. 2001 with a little more data
and documentation than the other tree showing Henry Y.
Bear. It is "Entry 2014" on Rootsweb.com
WorldConnect.

Are you familiar with this Henry Y. BEAR who
shows up on the 1790 York Co. PA Census according to
SALOMON file on Rootsweb.com WorldConnect? He is
shown with unknown spouse. His children include Jacob
BEAR b. abt. 1725. Jacob BEAR married Anna MARIE
[caps. theirs]. Jacob died before 1787 in Codorus
Twp, York Co., PA. Acc. to SALOMON file, there was an
orphan's court paper filed on 7 April 1787 re: Jacob
BEAR. Also, this file indicates that Jacob BEAR
appeared in the "Taxables in 1783, Codorus Twp
(microcard SPL) which is listed in the History of York
County, PA, page 699.

Jacob BEAR and Anna MARIE had John BEAR, Jacob
BEAR b. 1 Sept 1756, Daniel BEAR b. abt. 1760,
Ellizabeth BEAR b. abt. 1770, George BEAR b. abt. 1772
[my ancestor], and Catharine BARE b. 26 Sep 1773 in
Cumberland, PA. I found a reference to the 1773
baptismal record for this George BEAR. In the record
his name is printed as Johan George BAEHR. He was
baptized at St. Jacob's (Stone) Church in Brodbecks,
PA. This baptism record was translated by Dr. C. J.
Zahn in his compilation entitled St. Jacob's (Stone)
Church Brodbecks, PA. [ no pub. date] [no pagination].
Beside his name was written "son of Jacob and Anna
Maria Baehr, born April 12, 1773, baptized May 9, 1773
[,] Sponsors: George Dehoff and wife Elizabeth."

Do you think that the BARE line is my line then
since one of the children's surnames was BARE?
Wishing you well,
Laura Dague

Sincerely,
  Laura:)
