Subject: [ROOTS-L] Hiring local researchers

In a message dated 7/24/2006 10:13:07 A.M. Eastern Standard Time,
ROOTS-L-request@rootsweb.com writes:

Incidentally, most of us try to do lookups without charging anything.
Occasionally it does not hurt to hire a researcher with local expertise in
the area in question

That is a good point. I won't regret hiring a man in Florida who found only
brief death notices for me, so he went an extra step and looked at Wills and
found an executor. By process of elimination, we cuzzies were able to
locate her. A brief phone call and the full line of those in Florida and in
Indiana opened up to us.
All that for a miserly sum of 10 dollars.
