Subject: [ROOTS-L] free records

here's a few links I have;

http://www.accessgenealogy.com/index.htm

http://home.att.net/~wee-monster/deathrecords.html
and a sister site;
http://www.freesurnamesearch.com/

Illinois;
http://www.sos.state.il.us/GenealogyMWeb/marrsrch.html

newspapers

http://www.godfrey.org/OnlineResources2.html

bibles
http://www.biblerecords.com/

court records-well, one can at least find where a record is, or where the
address for a courthouse is that we need a record from-all sorts of
genealogical help here, too, and searches some of us might never think of
but would really help find or add to a specific individual. vessel records,
aviation records, rap sheets, as well as the more common bmd's, military,
adoption and estate records.
http://www.courtsonline.org/

that's all I could find for now, and I don't have links in my favorites for
MN, OH, or SD vital record indexes, or St. Louis obit index, you'll have to
search for those. I've had them in the past but either on an old computer or
lost them because I quit going to them after having found what I could at
the time.

don't forget to Google-there's sure to be some I don't know about

and if all else fails,
free look-ups
http://www.raogk.org/listing.htm

http://geneasearch.com/lookups.htm

lost my link to genie-angels, (or some name to that effect) at least, I
couldn't find it.

I also have alot of British and Dutch free vital record sites, does anyone
know of free Nova Scotian, German, Polish, Russian or Alsacian ones?

a hard lesson learned-if you aren't paying attention, a site will close and
someone else will buy the "space" and put their website in. so I am now
linked to a G.E.D. site that has nothing to do with the listing in my
favorites box, which was once owned by a David Wilks....
