Request the pension record from the National Archives.  It could 
provide a lot of interesting information for you.  Looks like John 
Golden was in Co. "B", 60th Massachusetts Infantry.  Apparently his 
wife filed for a widow's pension.  The widow's pension record I 
received gave much info such as date and place of marriage, veteran's 
birthplace and date of birth, children, etc.
