Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: Genealogy Software

Michelle,

I first used Family Tree Maker before trying Family Tree Legends. I love
Family Tree Legends, by Pearl Street Software. It is easier to navigate
through the family relationships and easier to add notes and
documentation etc. Best of all, this software creates an automatic back
up copy of your file every time you enter data, on an external server,
so if your PC fails, you can retrieve a complete backup of your file
from them. I never have to worry about making backup cd's or cd
failure. You can find out all the other great things about it at
www.familytreelegends.com.
Good Luck,
Joyce

I use Family Tree Maker and I do like it; however, I have nothing
to
compare it to as I have never used anything else. I borrowed a book
from
the library which had a CD in it with almost a dozen other genealogy
programs - demos. I took a quick look at each one, then decided I would
be
better off asking for opinions.

I would greatly appreciate any input on which program(s) list members
use
either in combination with or in the stead of Family Tree Maker.

........... (if you use something not listed here, please tell me about
it):

Thank you,
Michelle
