Subject: [ROOTS-L] Thomas Battell/Elizabeth Enfield

J.S.Roskell's "The History of Parliament; The House of Commons 1386-1421",  
pg 144, states that Thomas Bataill [sic: Battell], who married Elizabeth  
Enfield, dau. and heiress of Richard Enfield of Otes, died "not long  after May 
1395". I have seen repeated instances of citations stating that  Elizabeth was 
born about 1162. These relate to Thomas and Elizabeth having a  daughter 
Katherine (who married John Jocelyn [living 1225-6 as stated in NEHG  Register 
71:237, July 1917]. It would seem odd that there would be 2 Thomas  Battells , each 
married to an  Elizabeth Enfield (each with the  same named parents).
    I would like to hear from anyone who can clarify  this for me.  Thanks.
