  Whoever that attorney is, he needs to go back to law school. A lawsuit
against Ancestry would be thrown out of court because FACTS (birth dates,
marriage dates, etc) can not be copyrighted. Now if they had taken someone's
personal family stories, like for instance the journal entries of an
ancestor, a biography, etc, then that would be considered copyright
infringement..
  However, if you read all the fine print on Ancestry, FTM, etc, I am very
sure they have some sort of disclaimer to protect themselves. And I agree
with the person who said that if you didn't submit your info, someone you
shared it with most likely did so.
