Generally speaking, I don't.  One, if someone posts a request to the list
and someone answers only to the post-er, others may continue searching.

Second, if the reply contains any information on the process used to find
the info or a resource used to find the info that others may not know about,
posting to the list can help far more than just the one who posted the
request.
