In 1943 he was adopted at the age of 2 weeks by a family, Clara and Hosea Henson of Virginia originally from Arkansas, Clara Bell Newman was originally from North Carolina . Her family is from the Blue Ridge Mountains Franklin NC area, He knows that his mom was Native American and she went by the name of Tiny and Dad was a Mayfield that is all the real information we have on them. North Carolina adoption records are sealed for 100 years which is where is registration card is from . His registration card states that his birthday is Dec. 1 1943,doing research I know that they changed dates on adoptions in NC . His name is John William Henson (Mayfield) Like I said I know that I am digging for answers without a shovel but he would like to know" Who he is" One of the stories he had heard was that his dad may have died during the war and she went back to a reservation ,that is why she had given up her son to the Hensons! .
