Subject: [ROOTS-L] Joshua Hathaway Harrison

My "Thank You" may be late but "Thank You" ladies for assisting me in your attempt to locate my grandfather, Josh Harrison, of Alabama.

Although still not found anywhere living with parents in any state, I've recently learned that his parentage might have been Indian. In this case, it is my understanding they often falsified the information given to census takers whether it be their names or where they were born for fear of retribution from the government. This certainly solves the riddle as to the records, after he and his brother were heads of households, when different states were used for their unknown father's place of birth.

In circumstances such as this, what is the possibility of finding their parents? (Father, unknown, on death certificates).

*Thanks*
