I can only speak of Texas.  Go to the state capital, vital records office;  fill out forms;
  prove relationship; pay fees. The prisons are very solicitous of the privacy of inmates.
  I checked this out while looking for info on my own g'father. dead inmates are buried
  on the premises, I've never seen a listing for a prison cemetery except some from the
  civil war.

Hi roots,
I was just wondering if anyone would know if someone dies in prison,
what do they do with the death redords, and do penetentiaries have
cemeteries? How would I research that?

Thnk you,
