Frommer Have you tried? 1) go online and find name of newspapers in area where he died, then go to newspaper archives online and see if they go back that far -or even call the newspaper 2) go online and find name, tele #, etc. of library in that area and call them and see if they can be of assistance in finding that obituary. 3) Do you know any relatives that would have it.? Could you go to White pages online for that surname and town/area and find e-mail addresses and ask if related and would have an obit. 4) If you have some idea of their religious affiliation, try calling churches 5) What about funeral homes/cemeteries in that area? Have you tried contacting them? 6) what about an ad in the classifieds of the newspaper or even a short letter to the Editor and request publication. 7) Find the name of the local genealogical society and see if any members have the surname or are researching that surname and could be in touch with relatives. 8) Perhaps if you tell the List members what all you have already tried, we could help you with some other ideas Lynne in Texas Just some ideas, perhaps you will think of some more.
