Thank you for this post Gretchen! When I see someone post asking for info
but refusing to provide any info other than a list of names, I shake my head
and hit the delete key. There is no way to help when all you're given is a
name. I wanted to add that they should also take the time to put an actual
and detailed subject line on their post. Posts that come in with no subject
at all or "Help!" or "Look up" or even worse, "Re: Roots-L Digest..." are
usually deleted by most folks. Genealogy is not something you can be lazy
about, not if you want results.
