Good morning,
In your posting you did not give a time frame.  If a person in Florida were
imprisoned in 1920 and served 30 years and died in 1950 his death
certificate would be recorded in the state vital records office.  The prison
would probably have no record of anything following his death but the
prisoners records would be held at the Department of Corrections in
Tallahassee, FL.
