Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: ROOTS-L Digest V06 #292

Concerning Fried/Rosenberg,can I ask how the Rosenberg comes into play? My
grandfather was a Rosenberg,my grandmother was a Dollos, parents came to this
country in 1894 from Danzig,now Gdansk,Poland. I haven't found yet when my
grandfather's ancestor's came, there was much talk about a "hill of roses"
which(according to a person in Poland) means they had wealth and the place
was such that ordinary people couldn't afford. I would appreciate any
information you might have. I also found that for whatever reason, during the
time when the Jews had to choose a second name, many changed theirs from
people of Jacob to Rosenberg. It would be nice to find a little more of him.
I do know that so far as I've gone,Albert,William,Milton,Augustus,John, and
Catherine were nearly always incuded in every family. I hope something I've
said helps you find what you may not have been looking for(you did say
Fried) Patt Rosenberg Steele
