Subject: [ROOTS-L] German Translation please

With all of this talk about German translations, I'd
really appreciate some help also.

A few years ago, Mom gave me a round metal item. I
thought it could be used to hold fruit but the sides
aren't really high enough. I can put fruit on it but
it could slide off.

On the underside, there's wording that I don't
understand. Here it is:

Unserm Landeshandwerksmeister
Fritz Roding
Zum Jubelgeburtstag
50
GEWIDMET vd KRELSHANDWERKERSCHAFTEN
Koin Stadt & Land

I'm not sure if it's silver but there are little black
spots collecting on it. How do I clean it?

I'm trying to remember... Mom had a friend (Minnie)
whose husband was one of the first of the US military
who liberated the concentration camps in
Germany/Poland. (Minnie gave Mom some of her late
husband's letters which were, sadly, very descriptive
about his experiences. Mom sent them to the Holocaust
Museum in NY).

Minnie's husband brought home several items, one of
which could have been this plate/bowl.

That's all I know about it. I'd really appreciate a
translation of the wording.

Thanks,
dee
