The WPA Historical Records Survey, A Guide to the Unpublished Inventories,
Index, and Transcripts (The Society of American Archivists, Chicago, 1980).

Check List of Historical Records Survey Publications, Bibliography of
Research Projects Reports (Child & Holmes, GPC, 1969)

Many 'reports' were published on the state and even local level. Example,
Guide to the Public vital Statistics in Texas, Texas Historical Records
Survey, Division of Community Services Programs, Work Project Administration
(State Bureau of Vital Statistics, June 1941) -- and I'm betting I am one of
the few with a copy...

Subject: [ROOTS-L] WPA Cemetery & Vital Statistics Records

> Hi Group,
>
> I searched the archives but unable to find an answer. Is there any
specific place where all the WPA Records were stored or archived? Since it
was a govt program, I was wondering if there was a way to locate them? Were
they housed in each individual county or state?
>
> I have seen some of the cemetery transcriptions, which were very
helpful in locating and verifying information but not in all areas. It
seems very hit and miss on whether the information still exists.
