Subject: [ROOTS-L] Morehead Family History

Muirheid Family Record book. The Muirheid family history book covers all spellings of the name: Morehead, Moorhead, Moorehead, Muirhead, etc. In the book all names are spelled the same, Muirheid, because I was doing an index by computer and wanted all the family to be listed together.
The book covers the descendants of John Muirheid who was banned from Scotland and sent to America in 1685 on the ship Henry and Francis. He lived in Long Island, NY, for awhile and married Rebecca Bailey. He later moved to Hopewell, NJ. He was both an elder and a trustee of the Presbyterian Church of Pennington and in 1713 -1714 was appointed to be first high sheriff of Burlington County.
John was born in Glasgow, Scotland, 4 March 1660, the son of James Muirheid and Elisabeth Dunn.
This is a hard back book printed on acid free paper with an index and some photos.
Many of his descendants migrated to Virginia and later to some other southern states. His great grandson, William Franklin, settled in Macon Co., Illinois, in 1830.
For a short time, I am offering this book free to anyone who will pay the shipping charge. If you are interersted, please e-mail me at nmkarr@mchsi.com
