Subject: [ROOTS-L] Charleston Orphanage

My grandfather and his sister were placed in an orphanage in Charleston. William Washington Beckett was born 4/1872 and his sister Martha Elizabeth Beckett born 1880. Their mother, Margaret Wilson Beckett died around 1883 so their dad John Beckett moved them to Charleston to place them in an orphanage. They came from Adam's Run, Colleton SC. How can I get more info on the orphanage and/or more on Margaret and John? Seems I have hit a wall. Oh, They also had a son Lawton Beckett who died around the age of 12, b 1862 d 1874.

Thank you very much for any assistance you can give me!
Suzanne
