Subject: [ROOTS-L] Old picture on disk

You might want to check out a website, any that you find, that mentions the
time period various types of photographic processes were used. Some of the
old metal pictures might have been taken as far back as the civil war called
tin types, but whether or not the process was still being used in the 1900s may
be questionable.

So type in the word photography or photographic processes or anything that
might hit upon a website that discusses this sort of thing. You might even go
to your local library and look at books on photography. There you might be
able to find specific examples shown in the various books on the subject.
