Lois,
If you use PAF 5 as your family history program, GenCharts for PAF has a 
couple of reports that show you how many ancestors you have in each 
generation, how many you have identified, the number of repeat ancestors in 
each generation, and much more.  You can review facsimiles of these reports 
by going to www.familyhistoryguide.com, clicking on 'more information about 
GenCharts' on the home page and then reviewing the various reports.  Look 
especially at the Research Status List and the Research Status Chart 
reports.
