My Grandfather, Orrin Theo Shipp was born July 2, 1872, Boswell, Benton Co, Indiana, My Father, Albert John Shipp, born 16, Feb, 1908, Rest, Wilson, Kansas. and then me Ramona Lee Shipp born 28, May 1936. I have James Madison Shipp and Emma Louise Kilburns marriage license (copy), I find Emma teaching school in the Lafayette Tippicanoe Indiana schools in 1854. I have the obituaries of both Emma Louise and James Madison Shipp for Yates Center, Kansas. I believe her parents are William Kilburn/Kilborn and Catherine Powell of Chili, Monroe, New York. Any direction would be appreciated. Ramona., I have been searching for 20 years. I believe that Emma's father was William, son of Benjamin, son of Joseph, Son of Joseph, son of Thomas and Francis Moody Kilbourne.One thing that bothers me is the change of the spelling of the name. Some time in the same generation. If WILLIAM is correct then CATHERINE POWELL is his wife and WHO ARE HER PARENTS// I did find a Catherine Kilburn/Kilborn in 1850 census in Chile, Monroe Co, New York with Emma and her siblings, listed a widow, I received a death date from Monroe Co.NY. of Dec 22, 1847 at age 69.for William .I think but just think that this is the line I should be searching and I am. I have found a CATHERINE POWELL BORN 1783, in Kingston Frontenac, Ontario, Married to WILLIAM KILBURN, 1804, . No children listed. One of William and Catherine sons Lawson, was born in Kingston, Ontario. Does this seem familiar to anyone??
