Hi Kody,

It's great that you have an interest in genealogy. It will really help you
a lot as you study History in school, whether it be high school or college.

First, the most important thing you can do is to interview Rosie Jewel Duke
who is still alive. Don't do long interviews but short ones, maybe the
same time every day. Start with her, her date of birth, place of birth,
date of marriage, who did she marry, how many children, get names and dates
of birth and place of birth of all. After you get the info on her, then
try to get information on her father, her mother, brothers, sisters, aunts
and uncles. You will become the most important part of her life, so be
polite, kind and understanding that she may not remember everything.

Also, interview older aunts and uncles who may help you a lot.

The paper trail you can do anytime, but your older living relatives will not
always be available, so get those interviews done first. This list has
lots of experts who will help you on the paper trail.

Carl
