    Thanks for the chuckle you provided for all of us.

    Actually I have a good SMITH story.  I have in my direct line a William 
SMITH born in the late 1700s in NYS in my database on Ancestry/WorldConnect. 
At one time I had no details and no idea where to begin.  Someone recognized 
the connection because of an unusual name for a son-in-law,  sent me some 
details and a picture of William SMITH and his wife who are my ggg 
grandparents.  They turned out to be Palatine SCHMIDTS.
