He undertook to cut down a tree, when a limb of the same fell and hit him so unfortunately that death resulted almost immediately He leaves a large family in Illinois, and quite a number of relatives in this county. CRYSTAL and LIMITVILLE - Mrs. Joello HERBERT, wife of James ALLRED, died on the 17th inst., aged 29 years, after a painful illness of two weeks. Saturday night John BURTON fell and broke the knee-cap of his left leg. He is an active man and the confinement will go hard on him. A fine boy lately arrived at the house of U.S. WELLS; but Mr. SCHNEIDER, who recently visited Hillsboro, and joined the Limburger Winging Club of that place and was assigned to take the tenor part, is the happy father of two young boys, which arrived Sunday night. Mr. S. says they both have good voices, but he cannot as yet distinguish what part they will be able to fill. The father is said to be very happy, but does not come down town. February 18, 1884. WEDNESDAY, 27 FEBRUARY 1884 Albert, son of Jacob BLEIKER, died last Monday night. Mrs. Adolph YUNG, aged about 25 years, died at her home, near Dittmer's Store, some two weeks ago. Public Administrator Henry HURTGEN - whew! what a long name for so small a man! - will sell two horses, one mule, one cow, some hogs, household furniture, etc., the property of G.T. VINYARD, deceased, at administrator's sale next Saturday at deceased's late residence, near Limitville. Also, on Monday, at Victoria, he will dispose of the personal effects of the late Gas. LUTHER, embracing a cow, pig, blacksmith tools, iron, household goods, etc. Last Friday, G.W. CRIPPEN, of near Vineland, lost his house and its contents by fire. The family consists of Mr. C. and two daughters. The old gentleman was at work in his field and the young ladies were rendering lard on the stove, when it caught fire and the whole building was filled with flames almost in a moment. They only succeeded in saving a small lot of clothing, one bed, three quilts and the organ, which happened to stand near the door, everything else was devoured by the flames. The house was a two-story frame and had been insured, but the policy had expired just a few days before. Mr. C. had just finished paying for the place, after years of toil, and the misfortune falls heavily upon him. Mr. John D. HEARST, on learning the particulars, started out for contributions for the unfortunate family, and was succeeding very well when we saw him, Saturday.
