Subject: [ROOTS-L] More questions about WW 2

Thanks to all who responded. I have not found letters with any serial
numbers so far, so maybe that was after the two enlistments I have (1940
and 1942).

My husband was too young by a couple of years for WW2, but his memory
about references to enlisted men was that the term in the army referred
to the privates and corporals, rather than to those who enlisted vs
those who were drafted. Does that match anyone's memory? (I was
younger yet, and female, and not in contact with any Army types except
my uncle, who was an unreliable source.)

       Elizabeth C
