Flushed with success, I found out when my husband's cousin Jack did, as well. On both of these records, it gives an enlistment date. Does that mean the person actually enlisted, or might they have been drafted? That is, does date of enlistment only mean the date they joined, and not the status of their joining. I can imagine Uncle Harry enlisting, because there were a lot of family problems at the time and he may have just wanted to get out from under. My husband's cousin Jack is a different story, however.
