Subject: [ROOTS-L] Researching Nimrod Arrant

Nimrod Arrant, his wife and eight (8) children were listed on the 1830 Federal Census for Lincoln County Georgia; after this they vanished, and Have not been able to find them. Nimrod was born about 1780 in Kershaw County SC , to William and Elizabeth Arrant. He moved to Lincoln County Georgia about 1790, and was married sometime after 1803. There does not seem to be a record of this marriage, therefore, I have no idea of what his wife's name is.

There is no record of his having been in the Army, but he applied for a land grant in 1803 as a single man. There are records of his owning land in Lincoln County, and he appears on several tax records. This probably means nothing, but he had a letter waiting for him at the Columbus, Georgia Post Office at the close of 1939. I would be grateful help of any kind.
