I also had an uncle Harry drafted into the army in WW2. He was born in 1906
and was married but had no children. Because of his age he had a very hard
time in basic training but got through. I remember that the army didn't have
shoes size 14 at that time and he had to use is own shoes the first several
months.He was with the group that were the first to enter Tokyo at the end
of the war.
