When I started out all I knew was my dad's name, his parents names (no other details about them) and what my mother's name was on my BC. Raised by my dad, never knew anything about my mother so that was a dead-end until a few years ago, thanks to the 1930 census. Anyway, looking back after doing this for a few years now and I have really found out a lot of information on both sides of my family. In the beginning if someone would have told me I could trace some of my ancestors back to Europe in the 1500's I'd thought they were crazy. Then finding out my a lot of my ancestors have been in the U.S. since Colonial times was very interesting. Also finding out that some of my ancestors rubbed shoulders with Daniel Boone, Martin Van Buren, Abe Lincoln and others was very interesting. So for those that are just starting don't get discouraged with slow results, just keep plugging along and you will find out more information as time goes on. Dave [:O>
