I started my New Year 2006 by having breakfast with my pretty daughter Nancy Alexander, La Vern Bills and David Cooper. We were all such a sight that David was having trouble with his eyes. Afterwards I had Bible Study with PHIL MUELLER. I got my printer to my computer to work again, so I made some copies of pictures that my daughter JOYCE MINTZAS took at our Christmas Dinner. I wanted to print a copy for JOSE, LOUIS & TAMMY. I gave the pictures to BETTY BENNETT to put in their boxes. BETTY BENNETT and the Kitchen Staff prepared a great New Years meal for us old veterans. We had fried chicken, black eyed peas, cabbage, mash potatoes and gravy and a real good orange desert. After Lunch I took a nap until my phone rang, it was my pretty daughter NANCY ALEXANDER. NANCY said LEE BLVD. Was closed because of ˇ°WILD FIRES.ˇ± The Lawton/Fort Sill Veterans Center is located on Flower Mound Ave. that street runs North and South. Gore Blvd. Runs East and West one half mile north of us. Lee Blvd. Is a half mile south of us and LEE runs East and West. The Wild Fire was on LEE and Flower Mount. I went out on the front porch it was warm with strong winds. If that fire had come across Lee a half mile north it would have been around us. What a way to start the New Years! I want to thank everyone that sent Christmas Cards, pictures, newsletters. I enjoyed them very much. And I want to wish you a very HAPPY, HEALTHY, PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!
