Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: ROOTS-L Digest V05 #585

I started doing computer genealogy in the early '90's. We had copies of
information from my husband's family's Bible that went back to the 1820's, and I
started looking for information online. When my father-in-law died in 1994,
we inherited the original family Bible, and my research grew more intensive.,
including trips to the rarchives in the public library and Missouri Historical
Society. I just turned 50, so I must have been about 36 when I started out.

I have had much better luck with my husband's families than my own because
his ancestors have been in the same city for about 150 years. My own paternal
grandparents were Italian immigrants, and they did not share much information
about their youth in Italy with their children; my maternal grandmother did
not remember her parents well, as she had been raised by an aunt.
