Subject: [ROOTS-L] when did I start

It was really on September 2 1982 that I decided to start researching
genealogy it was after my husband had died in July 14 1982 and I needed
to start a hobby. so I went the the genealogy library in tacoma
washington. at the LDS .
it was there that I began my research on my fathers side , mothers side
and I collected all those notes on various forms. I ended up with boxes
and boxes of paper notes for each name. I then colleted them and was
getting way back into the l600 as I went to the library every day for
months....well I was a retired person at the age of 50 and so I had
collected many many pages and names.

then in that time I had moved down to arizona and again attended the
genealogy library down there and collected more and more. in the moveing
around I was not moveing furniture it was all genealogy .

so back to Las vegas Nevada here I move with the many boxes of
genealogy.

then I moved again back to washington state. at the coast area once
again I rented places that were furnished and it was just me and the
genealogy boxes.

that was in 1987 and the tragic thing happened all was lost in a fire..

well I was very heart broken. all the information was gone I thought.
but that day I had taken a couple of pages to go to the genealogy
library to look up and they were still in the car....

well with loseing everything but those few pages I had in the car the
genealogy and I moved on down to vegas again.. and it took me a couple
years really to get back to researching.. then in l998 in december I
went to the genealogy library just to see.
and it was then I started with the first pedigree chart again. like new
and then I went to the store and I bought 18 notebooks. and started each
one with the individual who was on number 2 on thrue 18. Yes I started
searching on these lines..and so I got each back to the emigrant and
some even back further.
well this worked out real good. if you wanted to know who I was related
to you would look at the first chart which I had on my wall and then go
to book #. this kept me pretty busy. and then well in the time these
bookes started to be more ana more until one day I counted I had 36 ...4
inch notebooks of genealogy.....well once again I was thinking of
moveing back up to washington . so that day I tool all 36 notebooks over
to my daughters as she had a computer and we put for a week copying all
this information to the computer on a disk. then I left all those books
for her to finish....well this time it was just me and the little disk
that arrived up here in washington.........and so now I got a computer
and I am trying to put it all on the computer ......so now I spend days
and nights looking up some information.
I had completed a lot of infromation on my father and mother side..
But, now I am trying to find the informaton on my husband side for the
children.
this I have gotten on the grandmother side as I was lucky to find that
the book was written of her line.and so thats been easy for me. (lucky
now on disk)
then as I ended the year 2005 I had made a notebook of Obits for the
month of December 2005 that was in the Seattle sunday and everyday paper
of Tacoma washington for an extra Hobby. so if anyone had someone who
died in December 2005 up this way....I just may have it.
so as I now am in my 72+ I am working on the computer sitill lookig up
names. and those person that is a mystery...a bigimist...a thief.... but
at least I can finished someday those areas. and get the charts
complete........
thats what I do now day in and nighttime to.
it became a real good hobby for me.....
my names on my parents side are :Steveson/stevenson and my mother side
is Eason
on my marriage side its Lewis and Tandy and Bears
so hope that this new year 2006 will be a good one. so everyone a
Happy New Year
