Jerry, thanks for the info -- I had no reason to check and did not realize
this. This will make me stop and take time to go through the National
Register's site - http://www.cr.nps.gov/nr/
I believe Donna Jean's original question on 12/29 places the cemetery in
South Carolina -- and when I gave my original answer should have also
included the info below ... not just for Donna Jean but for anyone else out
there on this list who has an interest in cemeteries -

* South Carolina's Historic Cemeteries: A Preservation Handbook by McGahee &
Edmonds (SC Archives)
* South Carolina Historical Marker Program ...
http://www.state.sc.us/scdah/historic.htm

*Take a look at our Texas Historical Commission website ....
http://www.thc.state.tx.us/ and click on Cemeteries ... the menu bar to
the right will give you lots of good info -- and it can be printed off. For
any state that does not have a program in place for the recognition and
preservation of cemeteries, you might encourage your state preservation
officer (or county or city) to take a look --- and you might also offer
suggestions to get one started.

* Check the Association for Gravestone Studies at
http://www.gravestonestudies.org/ Again, you'll find some good helps.
* A Graveyard Preservation Primer by Lynette Strangstad - available from
Assoc of Gravestone Studies, bookstores, etc.

Happy New Year, Everyone! Here's to all of us helping someone else in
2006 - and hopefully in doing so we'll all find at least one 'missing'
ancestor of our own!
